Today we started out (after doing the laundry) with a walk to Central Park. We thought it was a big shopping centre but actually, not so much. What it was - literally- was about the greenest and most intricate building you can imagine. Fantastic design and mainly restaurants. Well worth the walk.
From there we caught the bus out to Bondi Beach where we saw........... not a single surfer! It’s a beautiful beach and the surf was pounding - too much! The beach was closed for both swimming and surfing as just too dangerous in what was a gale force or higher wind. We got sandblasted just walking along but here are some pictures.
We split a pizza - very authentic made by real Sicilians - and headed back into town. Another visit up close with the Opera House and a stroll in the Royal Botanical gardens with Government House came next.
This guy was really thirsty so we turned the tap on for him.
We set back over town for more shops and happy hour in Darling Harbour but on the way we met this guy playing. So primal, it really gets to you at the most basic level.
So that’s it for Sydney and Australia. Tomorrow first thing we head out for Auckland.
